Blog #3 Research Gap

Research gaps I have found in my literature review are the lack of personal experience that these scholarly articles provided. A lot of the scholarly articles I used, used a lot of third-person. They lacked the personalization. Writers talked a lot about others' experiences instead of the outsiders giving their own stories. Yes, all of the scholarly articles I provided remain true and valid, but I think it would have been beneficial to give more examples of outcomes of cross-cultural technical communication. Overall, this was still one of my favorite papers to write and I am looking forward to investigating this topic further.

  1. Hey Frankie! I'm not sure if you could do this for your topic, but it may help to end the research gap by adding your own personal experience or by creating your own research, since the articles you are looking at lack their own. Again, I'm not sure if you can do that, but I think it may make it more fun to write about! I also like that you are staying optimistic and looking for more topics going forward! :)

  2. Hi Frankie,

I think your blog #3 both suggests great possibilities for research on cross-cultural (or multicultural) communication from a PTW standpoint. After having read your Lit. Review writing assignment, I really like your idea of trying to see if you can propose something that would provide data to the scholarly sources you have read -- of course, these data would probably substantiate your sources' claims with more personal stories and/or reflections.

In fact, your blog #3 seems to springboard a rhetorical exigency for this type of inquiry and am sure, once your research design/proposal has been set from a specific research method's standpoint (and if conducted after 3450), it would be a welcome addition to PTW scholarship. Whether you realize it or not, I believe you've established a good opening/edge here to pursue your topic all the more. Am looking forward to chatting with you more about your plans.
